Michigan scores state law inside the trade exam itself - PA 407, PA 230, and Part 8 rules aren't a separate quiz here, they count toward your 75%. And the reference rules are stricter than most states: the NEC Handbook is explicitly prohibited, only a factory-tabbed code book is allowed in.
Open book per the current PSI bulletin, with those specific reference limits. The exam is written knowing you have the code - the skill being tested is finding the right section fast and applying it under the clock. That's trainable, and timed practice in the real format is how you train it.
Exam details change. Always confirm the current format, references, and code edition with the official PSI candidate bulletin before test day.
