This policy applies to voltmarkapp.com and the VoltMark application (together, "VoltMark"), operated by VoltMarkApp, 308 N Patterson Ave, #175, Florence, TX 76527, United States ("we," "us"). It explains what information we collect from you, how we use it, and who we share it with.
What we collect
Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password, or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google. If you don't create an account, VoltMark still works as a guest, identified only by an anonymous device session.
Study data. Your selected state, license track, streak, XP, and which practice questions you've answered and how you did on them — this is what lets your progress carry across sessions and devices.
Usage events. We record a limited set of product-usage events (for example, starting a diagnostic, viewing pricing, completing a study session) so we can tell which parts of the product are actually working. We do not track your activity outside of voltmarkapp.com.
Payment information. If you subscribe or make a purchase, your payment is processed entirely by Stripe, Inc. VoltMark never receives, stores, or has access to your full card number. We keep a record of the purchase itself (which plan, when, the amount) for receipts, support, and the pass-or-refund guarantee.
Device/browser storage. We use local storage on your device to remember guest progress before you create an account, and to keep you signed in. We also use session storage — which your browser clears when you close the tab — to remember how you reached the site, so that if you read a guide and then open the app we can still tell which link or search brought you. It holds only the campaign parameters that were already in the address you arrived at, or the website that linked to us. It holds no page content, no search terms you typed on our site, and nothing that identifies you. Neither of these is a third-party advertising cookie.
How we use it
To run the product: serve the right questions, track your progress, apply your entitlement (free/trial/paid), and enforce the pass-or-refund guarantee fairly.
To communicate with you: account and purchase confirmations, and product updates you can opt out of.
To improve the product: understanding where people get stuck so we can fix it. We look at aggregate patterns, not individual behavior, for this.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your study data or answers to market to other companies.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run VoltMark, and we share only what each one needs to do its job:
Stripe, Inc. — payment processing. See Stripe's own privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
Supabase — our database and authentication provider, hosting the account and study data described above.
Anthropic (optional AI support). When AI support is enabled and you send a typed question, we send your message and up to six recent conversation turns to Anthropic to generate a reply. We do not attach your account profile, payment records or email address. Do not type passwords or payment details. This chat implementation keeps the conversation in memory while the panel is open, not in our database or analytics. We keep daily session usage counts to limit abuse. The help topics and account actions do not require an AI request.
We do not share your data with data brokers or advertising networks.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting support@voltmarkapp.com. We'll confirm deletion within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep purchase records for tax or legal purposes.
Children's privacy
VoltMark is a professional licensing exam preparation product intended for adults pursuing an electrical trade license. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your information, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
VoltMark uses advertising measurement tags so we can tell which ads bring people
here and whether they found the product useful. When an advertising network is
switched on, its tag runs on our pages and sets cookies in your browser.
What is sent: the page address you are on, the name of the action
(for example: started the free readiness check, bought a guide), and for a purchase the
amount and currency.
What is never sent: your email address, your name, your exam
answers or your score.
Who receives it: Google (Google Ads) and Meta (Facebook and
Instagram), only while we are running ads on that network.
Turning it off: browser settings and extensions that block
advertising cookies stop these tags. Nothing on VoltMark stops working if you block
them, including buying and downloading a guide.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use these tags to build
profiles about you beyond measuring our own ads.
